Secret Fern is a small eco-conscious business and all of our packaging is either compostable or recyclable - including our inner and outer packaging - which is made by another New Zealand business.

We ship our jewellery from Oamaru, New Zealand with New Zealand Post (we can provide you with a tracking number).

At the moment we do not provide any Express Courrier options for our overseas customers due to the high cost of this shipping method. However if you are based overseas and would like an Expedited shipping, please contact us at secretfernnz@gmail.com for a quote. If agreed, we will then send you an invoice for the additional shipping fee. 

 

COVID-19 SHIPPING UPDATE 2021

As we ship from an island and freight traffic has reduced since the pandemic, we ask our customers to please be patient during shipping. The New Zealand Post is quite effective, reliable and usually fast, but there have been delays regarding international shipping.

We have found that items shipping to Europe or the USA can take up to 5 weeks to arrive to you.

Although we ship items in the next few days after payment received, we noticed that goods can stay at Custom for about 2 weeks before leaving New Zealand.

 

  • If you are planning a gift for a special occasion, please make your purchase about 5-6 weeks in advance.

  • Similar to the busy Christmas season, we will recommend making a purchase before the end of November. 

We hope that circumstances will get better over time to see the international shipping return to normal.

 

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMS AND OTHER CHARGES

Some international orders outside New Zealand may incur a customs or importation duty charge.

We do not have any control over these charges and we are unable to advise what the international customs and duty charges may be payable on orders purchased, as it is based on your own countries laws and regulations (check your country's Custom website information).

Duties and other international custom charges are not included in the purchase price and all charges, if any, are to be paid by the buyer upon delivery of each order paced.

Orders cannot be returned to the sender should you fail to pay the applicable importation, custom duties or other charges. We are not responsible for the payment of the duties and other international custom charges. We cannot pay these charges on your behalf.

Should you refuse the pay the applicable importations, customs and other duties applicable to your own Country of origin your parcel may be abandoned, and we will not be held responsible or liable for any loss of funds as a result of your failure to make payment.

We cannot mark International orders as a gift in order to bypass or reduce any customs fees as this is an illegal practice.
